Hi has anybody had cambelt snap, camshaft snaps etc basically catastrophic damage to the engine and had to replace the fuel pump. Interested to hear experiences before I fork out for a pump 🤮 I’ve timed it and it still doesn’t start and the software says it’s at ATDC when online with the timing marks. It is mostly 20-40 or 40-60. Either the 88 or the 102 is the way to go. You can "convert" the 88 to a 102. But if you want the power in the first place, the 102 is the one to get, to save money on the conversion. Then if you are REALLY silly, you can convert the 102 to the 150 (Sold in Europe only, LHD) with a few parts.
2013 Passat TDI SEL (hers) Jul 15, 2009. #9. The 2.5 isn't especially economical (like our TDIs) nor is it especially powerful (like the 2.0T). I believe the 2.0T even gets slightly better EPA highway economy (like 1 mpg) than the 2.5. If I couldn't get a TDI, I'd definitely get the 2.0T.
